Jozef Fulier:Reforma matematického vzdelávania na Slovensku a niekoľko poučení z histórie
Full paper(The Reform of Mathematical Education in Slovakia and a few Lessons to be Drawn from History)

Abstract: In this article we deal with some consequences of the reform of mathematical education (2008) in the Slovak Republic. We argue that the answers to some of the myths associated with education in mathematics can be also found in the history and historical documents, such as the two most famous legends of Euclid of Alexandria. Many educational experiments are modeled on the "treatment A versus treatment B" model used in agricultural or medical research. It is undoubtedly interesting that quite a precise description of this method can be found even in the Old Testament, which is probably the oldest known written description of this method.
