Abstract: The paper addressing the issue of critical thinking of secondary level elementary school pupils in subject mathematics. Based on results of previous research we point out need to develop ability to use critical thinking of pupils during they solve verbal tasks and construction tasks in geometry, which forms the base for successful acquisition of knowledge in subject technics teaching at elementary school. We analyze foreign textbooks, too.
